Ceylon High Grown Seasonal - Aislaby Tea Estate
This seasonal tea from the Aislaby Tea Estate in Sri Lanka’s Uva district takes black tea to another level - it has just won a Great Taste Award! Hot days, cold nights and strong winds combine to stress the bush and build flavour, while the oxidation process is minimised to result in a black tea with a number of green tea characteristics - it's deeply aromatic with complex flavours, including intriguing notes of wintergreen. It's one of our favourite black teas.
Food pairing: Sweet and lightly spiced food, Continental breakfast, English breakfast, also great in the afternoon on its own or with cake.
Brewing instructions: Best without milk, or just a dash. 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf or 1 pyramid bag. 2-3 mins at 90-95ºC without milk, 4-5mins at 95-100ºC with milk. Just turn your kettle off before boiling if you don't have a temperature controlled kettle.
