Earl Grey Tea
The most popular flavoured blend in the world gets its name from Charles Grey, the Second Earl Grey who was British Prime Minister between 1830 to 1834, and it combines black tea with the essential oil of bergamot.
This wonderful Earl Grey marries premium natural oil from the bergamot orange, with tea from the Glendale Tea Estate, which has heritage dating back to 1835, and is located in the best planting areas of the Nilgiri Hills of South India.
Food pairing: The citrus notes from the bergamot oil work perfectly with smoked salmon, as well as dishes that include lemon, such as lemon drizzle cake.
Brewing instructions: 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf or 1 pyramid bag. 3 mins at 90-95ºC without milk, 3-5mins at 95-100ºC with milk. Just turn your kettle off before boiling if you don't have a temperature controlled kettle.
Ingredients: Black Tea, Natural Bergamot.
Until at least the end of June, £1 for every large loose leaf pack sold will be donated to Regenerate-RISE, supporting vulnerable isolated elderly including supply boxes due to Coronavirus.
